Reader guide
How to use BirdieBeacon.
Choose news, instruction, equipment, or video first. Search within that section when you want a player, event, club, or swing topic.
Pick a section
Each section has its own set of publisher feeds. Start there instead of searching the whole web:
Search available entries in that section
Type in “Search entries.” Useful searches include Solheim Cup, wedge fitting, distance control. Search and the all-headlines view include available older entries for the selected section, even when its first page shows only recent stories. The results come from publisher feeds available during the current site build, so they do not include every article a publisher has ever released.
If a section has enough entries for numbered archive pages, use “Browse the feed archive” below its recent stories.
Save stories and mute sources
Select the star on a story to save it. Use “Saved only” to show those stories on pages where they are present. Select “Mute” on a source to hide its stories; open “Muted sources” to restore one.
Narrow by date
Use the date choices beside the search controls to limit results by publication date. Date filtering and muted-source filtering apply together, so clear either one if a story seems to be missing.
Follow updates
Follow options lists the main feed and feeds for each section. RSS works in most feed readers; JSON Feed exposes the same kind of update stream to compatible readers and scripts. Opening RSS or JSON Feed in a browser does not subscribe you automatically.
